My name is Asly (pronounced az-lee). I was born and raised in
Brooklyn, NY. I am a Founding Father of the Pi-Phi Chapter of Kappa Sigma, first and second Grand Treasurer, Assistant Grand Scribe and Grand Scribe. I am a 5th-year senior in Business Management and Finance at Brooklyn College. I am currently employed at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in the Office of Facilities Planning where I review contracts, design and construction documents, quarterly progress reports, etc. I am occasionally charged with
photograph surveys of various City facilities and health centers which I enjoy very much. I am the Business Manager, features writer and cartoonist at the award-winning campus newspaper, the Excelsior. I am currently accepting advertisements for the paper. I also volunteer-tutor high school students for the English Regents exam. My
hobbies include music, writing and photography. I plan to catch up on the piano and baritone in January 2012, pick up the drums in November 2011, and finally obtain my driver’s license in December ’11. I also have a strong interest in carpentry, ceramics and creative writing. My
older friends call me a polymath. I hope to learn and experience as much as I can and acquire enough discipline to select an exciting and appropriate path to travel out of many.
