The Pi-Phi Chapter of Kappa Sigma was founded by 33 friends and brothers at Brooklyn College, the City University of New York. Founding Grand Master and President Louis Di Meglio transferred from Adelphi University as an initiated brother of the Omicron-Epsilon Chapter. An interest group was created in September 2008.
Months later, after many challenges, learning experiences, and fun times, the Pi-Phi Chapter was installed on October 30th, 2009, at the Brooklyn College SUBO (Student Center) by members of the Omicron-Epilson, Nu-Gamma (Pratt Institute), Alpha-Eta (George Washington) and other chapters of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Pi-Phi is the 336th Chapter of Kappa Sigma to be installed in North America.
Since then, Pi-Phi has been a team player in the Brooklyn College community, helping with food drives, fundraisers, and mentoring fellow students and elementary through high school-age children. Fraternally, Pi-Phi has also helped install 6 other Kappa Sigma chapters, including Sacred Heart University (Pi-Omega), St. John’s University- Queens (Rho-Beta), Rutgers University (Gamma-Upsilon), Texas Women’s University (Rho-Gamma), St. John’s University- Staten Island (Rho-Sigma) and Queens College (Rho-Tau).
Pi-Phi is proud to have within its ranks a member of the CUNY Board of Trustees from 2009-2011 as well as University Student Senate Chairperson, former student government undergraduate and graduate presidents, student government members, IGC vice-president and treasurer, election commissioners, campus-wide committee members, club presidents, vice-presidents, treasurers, secretaries, etc., and will continue to be a model of leadership.
The Chapter works to improve itself, its members, and the Brooklyn College community.
